To build an ADU starts somewhere at $170,000 depending on the scenario, such as an existing building or garage. Any demolition that needs to occur, as well as the size of the project (number of bedrooms, number of floors) could also impact price. Maintenance required on a new ADU should be considered as minimal since it is like moving into a brand-new home – there should be no major issues with a quality built ADU.
